How’s your New Year going? The party’s over and now it’s down to the business of creating a happy new you. Digging into the nitty gritty of transformation takes time, effort, and yes, lots of sweat equity.
I was just reading in the Duke Integrative Health newsletter that only 8 percent of people stay with their New Year’s resolutions. Why do most resolutions fail? Yep, you guessed it. Most resolutions fail because we want overnight success. We set the bar too high, even when we all know real change takes time.
That’s where yoga and Pilates come in. Mind body exercise gives you powerful tools in creating lasting change. Everything we do on the mat trains us to do everything differently off the mat. Working through our challenges (spne stretch forward, anyone?), builds attention, endurnce and strength, to carry us through the busiest of days.
I teach “Pilates with Options” over at the Pilates Room on York Rd., at 5:30 am on Tuesdays and 8:15 am on Thrusdays. Come join us and we’ll help you keep working towards your happy new you.
