Recovery Mode

There I was the other night, rummaging through the pantry for chocolate. It could have come in the form of a cookie, candy, or even a cleverly disguised granola bar. You know how it is with holiday cravings, once you give in, you tend to go all the way.

Most times, I’m good. Other occasions, I cave in to all my favorite indulgences.

Yep, there’s a reason the cookies were gone in a split second when the gang came over for Thanksgiving dessert, I ate half the dough before the chocolate chips hit the cookie sheets.  Of course, I know I’m not supposed to do that, but that’s the point, right?

Now it’s recovery mode, and gulp, getting prepared for the next round. Yep, you got it, a healthy serving or two of exercise will quell the cravings. This I know. Take a breath, take a walk, and take a moment to de-stress. After all, holiday indulgences are the icing on the sweet cake of life.

Don’t be too hard on yourself. Remember, life would be boring without an occasional dollop of Cool Whip. Just come to class and we’ll keep you on track so you can enjoy that well-deserved treat or two.
